To research into and compile the Genealogy and History of the Brunei Sultans and Royal Family;

To research into and compile the biographies of State Dignitaries and others who had contributed to the development, progress and prestige of Brunei Darussalam;

To collect and preserve historic documents related to Brunei Darussalam for study, reference, documentation and publication;

To trace and discover historical facts and evidences as sources of reference and study;

To collect all available data and writing on all aspects of Brunei Darussalam's history for preservation, study and evaluation as well as a means of countering any deliberate perversion or distortion of the true facts of the nation's history;

To enhance and strengthen the morale and allegiance of Bruneians towards His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan, and His Majesty's successors and;

To make known the glory and sovereignity of Brunei Darussalam in history.
