To conduct research and documentation of historical materials on Brunei for reference and publication materials.

To collect, preserve and conduct rediscovery of available materials and records on Brunei History either locally or overseas in order to give true and correct informations and beneficial for the people of Brunei in promoting nation-building.

To hold exhibitions on the History of Brunei especially for the public to increase their understanding on the progress of the countryís history and to show some research methods conducted by the History Centre.

To publish all research and study efforts on Brunei History for the informations and knowledge obtained should be made widely knoen to the public.

To expand and upgrade staffís skill, expertise, experience and acknowledge to promote competence, productivity, high efficiency and quality performance in all works related to history research, documentation, study publication, writing in order to achieve the objectives and aims of establishing the History Centre.
